Chapter One
God Created the World
“Everything?”asked the child;
the Big Bang, suddenly,
vanished into
the Black Hole in my head.
Chapter Two
God Protects Us
“God gives us air to breathe, food to eat,
clothes to wear and houses for our shelter”
I read out to her
from her text book.
“Ma...
man is the one who makes a house
and not God, isn’t it?” asked the child.
Chapter Three
Christmas
“Mary is Jesus’ mother and Joseph his foster father,”
I reiterated the lines from her book.
“But why is Joseph his foster father?” asked the child
and I landed
at the Council of Nicaea
And then at Chalcedon
amidst Nestorius and Eutyches bewildered!
Brings back memories Alice... Makes me wonder how easily a child can confuse and frustrate an adult ๐. Thank you for making me think and smile at the same time.

Delete๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ There was a time that I questioned everything and anything.... All those questions arose from pure curiosity of innocent heart... Wanting to know more and more... A thirst for knowledge about all I saw and heard and known. Memory beacons me to walk those lanes again after reading you ma'am. ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ

DeleteThe holy Bible didn't say ones upon a time God turn on a switch then the universe was created. According to Albert Einstein E = mc2 it means energy is equal times of the speed squared. And if we need to create one Kg of mass we should spent the energy equals to the square of the speed of the light. So if we are considering the case of universe how much excessive energy was paid for its creation. It is still standing outside of our imagination. Then the holy Bible says that God created the universe by his command. By his word. That word become flesh
ReplyDeleteThe Word became flesh, he lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory that he has from the Father as only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14. If God knows to create this entire universe with his one single word why cant he not beget his son or that word from a virgin?. Science and Bible are not enemies they are complementary with each other ( Dear ma'am if i sayed anything irrespectively please forgave me. I only wished to explain the biblical context to the creation)
I'm glad you expressed your thoughts Francis. The only question I have in my mind is to what extent will science and religion accept this "complementarity."
DeleteMa'am i think religion is always ready to accept science but science is not ready to show this same attitude towards religion. But when the time moves, the thoughts and attitudes of man will also move with it.so we can expect a change
